Who This Course Is For

This course will help your research and development budget to go further. If you’re a scientist or engineer involved in research into products or processes this is the course for you. It covers a range of statistical methods to analyse data in the most effective and efficient way and will help you gain new insights.

Whether you’re looking at data from past production records, designed trials or environmental records we will show you how to use statistical methods to find important features embedded within complex data. This will enable you to make informed decisions about future actions.

By the end of the 2-day course you will be able to:

R

Evaluate whether a linear relationship is suitable

R

Detect changes using Cusums (trend analysis)

R

Identify differences among several formulations or treatments

R

Use multiple regression to model a response in terms of several predictor variables

R

Choosing the best conditions by fitting a response surface

R

Reduce the complexity of multidimensional data

Course Level

The course starts at an intermediate level and proceeds to the application of statistics in R&D. Prior reading is issued before the course. Alternatively you may wish to attend the 1st day of our 2-day “Introduction and Statistical Methods for Scientists course” first.
